BULLS BASH WARRIORS

Nick DePaola and Josh Asper returned fumbles of 12 and 22 yards, respectively, for touchdowns, as visiting Hereford routed Baltimore County 4A-3A League rival Woodlawn, 52-8, on Monday afternoon.

Asper, Bryan Botti, Jason Fischer, Charlie MacSherry, Sam Newton, Mike Schilling and Trevor Sevier were involved in sacks totaling minus 37 yards.

The Bulls led, 45-0, at halftime, and, 52-0 after three quarters before Warriors got a fourth-quarter 11-yard scoring run from Corey Fuller, followed Michael Reed’s conversion run.

DePaola and Fischer also rushed for scores of 1 and 18 yards respectively; Adam Yates kicked a 30-yard field goal as well as seven extra points; and Peter Green had an intereption as Hereford rose to 8-0 overall, and 7-0 in the league.

The Warriors are 3-5, 2-5.

The win was the 18th straight for the Bulls against county competition,
and it came a little more than a week after having played perhaps their
worst game of the season.

In last week’s 17-14 victory over visiting Milford Mill, Hereford
trailed, 7-0, entering the second quarter and was held far below its
previous scoring average of 45 points.

The Bulls entered last weekend’s game having handed previously unbeaten
Parkville its first loss, 44-23. In addition, the Bulls’ star running
back, Lonnie Liggins, was held out of the endzone against Milford Mill.

Woodlawn was not so fortunate.

Hereford’s Lonnie Liggins (above) rushed for 133 yards and scores of 3 and 15 yards in Monday afternoon’s 52-8 rout at Woodlawn in Baltimore County 4A-3A League action. Hereford is 8-0.

Liggins rushed for scores of 3 and 15 yards against the Warriors, finishing with 133 yards on 10 carries. D.J. Wacker rushed for 86 yards on four carries, with most of that coming on a 58-yard scoring run.

The Bulls totaled 325 yards on 28 carries in the game.
